Vietnam is now the second largest exporter of textiles and garments in the world. It is expected Vietnam’s garment & textile export turnover will reach US$ 40 billion in 2019, a 10.8 percent year-on-year increase from 2018, continuing a trend of double-digit year-on-year growth.
The government of Vietnam is encouraging foreign investors to set up factories in North Vietnam near Hanoi, where labor and production costs are lower than South Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City. Also, the North has a fast land cross-border connection advantage with southern China, providing logistic support.
